Canning Town Centre

As the preferred development partner for the regeneration of Canning Town, our vision is to establish a new heart for the township by delivering a vibrant, accessible, mixed-use town centre.

Safe, secure and with a strong sense of place, this new and sustainable town centre will promote growth and investment in the local area. It will be characterised by a mix of modern and independent shops, attractive public spaces, a lively evening economy, quality homes and successful businesses.

The development will play an important catalytic role at the heart of the wider Canning Town and Custom House Regeneration Project, a £3.7 billion project which aims to physically, socially and economically transform a large part of the London Borough of Newham.

The development proposal incorporates up to 1,130 homes; generous accommodations for senior living; live/work, employment and retail floor spaces, including a supermarket of 7,921m2; leisure floor space; a community centre; primary health care and nurseries; a hotel with up to 200 rooms and conference facilities; access roads; pedestrian, cycle and vehicle routes and up to 1,150 covered car parking spaces. An energy centre, utilities infrastructure and drainage works will complement a full upgrade of services.

Beyond bricks and mortar, we hope to play a key part in the social and economic regeneration of Canning Town, and to meet the needs of residents in the wider community. To achieve this, we have established a clear and positive process of consultation with local residents where we listen to their views, encourage them to be active members of our partnership, and respond to their input wherever possible.

Additionally, we are focused on close relationships with our clients. We believe that the key to successful delivery is to work as a coherent and integrated team with the London Borough of Newham and London Thames Gateway Development Corporation. Our property development arm, Bouygues Development, is the lead partner in a consortium for Canning Town which includes One Housing Group.
