Undergraduate placements
Building services and civil engineering degree students can gain hands-on experience in all aspects of major construction projects with our work placements. Students have the opportunity to work on-site as part of production teams, in bid management, and within our design department. Business students are also considered for work placements in our support functions. Placements range from three months to one year.
Summer placement (three months)
A summer placement enables students to gain an insight into Bouygues UK and the construction industry. Trainees work as an integral part of a project team, with the chance to work on-site and gain experience working directly with both clients and subcontractors. We offer a wide variety of technical trainee opportunities, allowing you to acquire a practical knowledge to complement the theoretical knowledge gained at university. Students must be in at least their second year of university.
Industrial placement (nine to 14 months)
An industrial placement is a fantastic opportunity to gain invaluable work experience as part of your degree. You will experience working life and gain insight into various careers within the business, enabling you to make informed choices. You will have the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of projects and scheduling whilst liaising with clients and subcontractors and managing tenders. Students are generally in their third year of university.
Chartership
We offer support towards achieving chartered status. Our structured training programme with the CIOB , RICS or ICE (amongst others) helps you to develop the necessary skills through professional development, mentoring, peer support and facilitation of access to a variety of roles.
