Heading: Join The Team And Shape Your Future!
Subheading: Training
Bouygues UK initiated its own training scheme designed to develop the professionalism, adaptability and efficiency of its staff.
Its managers are responsible for identifying individual and collective requirements, whilst working together with their Training Representatives and HR officers to formulate appropriate in-house and external training solutions.
In 2002 training represented an average of 3% of the company’s payroll.
Bouygues UK is working in partnership with the different professional institutes to give its employees the opportunity to achieve Chartered status, should they wish to do so.
High Potential
Management training programmes run by Bouygues Construction have been set up for staff with high potential, so that they can:
Become known within the Bouygues Group beyond their sphere of activity and build a personal network
Share ideas and information, thus allowing them to enhance their personal effectiveness as well as the collective performance
Identify and grow the management skills and values that contribute to Bouygues’ success.
Training Cycles
Bouygues UK has defined standard training cycles for the main job categories, which will:
Improve the efficiency of annual appraisal
Improve the follow-up of individual training needs and career development
Improve definition of different training courses
Apprentice Training
The Gustave Eiffel training centre, set up in 1997 by Bouygues Construction, organises work-study programmes to train young apprentices, under 26, for the construction and services trades.
The Bouygues Construction 24 Hour Challenge
Since 1997, Bouygues Construction organises a competition that is unique in the construction industry and in Europe. Named the “Bouygues Construction Challenge”, it allows teams of students from top French and European business and engineering schools to discover the range and variety of professions exercised within the company. Over a 24-hour period, students become sales engineers, technicians, financial engineers, managers, designers, developers and builders and conduct a practical case-study requiring them to set up a project and submit their results to a panel of senior Bouygues Construction executives.
Bouygues UK is a committed equal opportunities employer
