Our Research and Development Committee coordinates our innovation work on a global level. By providing access to expertise from across the Group, this dedicated R&D team ensures that our clients benefit from our entire Group capabilities.
Our industry-leading research focus areas have applications across all sectors in the advancement of sustainable design practices. These include our development of pro-environmental initiatives, such as our pioneering positive-energy Green Office, Green Site and Ecosite; and efficiency initiatives, such as the UK introduction of our INOVPAC scheme, which streamlines and optimises the build process for housing projects.
Global initiatives with local benefits
We recognise the immense value of the knowledge held within our Group. At our biennial research and development forum, Bouygues specialists and experts from around the world gather to share their experiences and insights. Building on the success of these forums, our quarterly Innovation Encounters enable specific topics to be studied in-depth.
Our Materials Engineering Centre develops innovations on materials and processes and our Group-wide Sustainable Construction structure supplies expertise to our technical and sales teams. Our regular Innovation Competitions strengthen our innovation culture and encourage idea contribution at all levels – our first competition saw 700 employees take part, with 41 innovations being included in our research and development programme and a further 250 innovations being presented for application across the Group.
