Bouygues is committed to an ambitious sustainable development initiative relating to the design of its works as well as the execution of its sites.

The reduction of our environmental impacts is as much an essential necessity as it is a remarkable source of progress that leads us to innovate, to reassess our offers and our production methods. By setting out a site environmental initiative, Bouygues consequently affirms an ambition, at the service of its clients: to be the leader as regards sustainable construction.

For a company, sustainable development means striking a balance in its development model between the economic profitability of its businesses and their labour, social and environmental impact. Decisions at every level must take account of all three facets of sustainable development: economic, social and environmental, not merely economic concerns alone.

Sustainable development has long been a strategic priority demonstrated on 12 October 2006 when we joined the United Nations Global Compact. Actitudes is our long-term sustainable development vision consistent with our values – with 7 themes:

  • Foster a trusting relationship with our clients, based on consideration, transparency and innovation.
  • Incorporate risk into the day-to-day management of the company.
  • Lead our business sectors in terms of occupational health and safety.
  • Develop our employees’ skills and promote equal opportunity.
  • Establish balanced, long-term relationships with partners, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Ensure that our businesses respect the environment.
  • Participate in the economic and social life of the regions where we operate.

Commitments and concrete actions were defined for each key theme. The common core of Bouygues Construction’s sustainable development policy comprises 42 actions.
