Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week 2026

09/02/2026

Bouygues UK is proud to support National Apprenticeship Week. We believe that investing in early talent is essential to building a sustainable, inclusive and resilient future for our industry. As we mark #NAW2026, we’re proud to celebrate the vital role apprentices play in shaping the next generation of construction professionals and leaders.

Creating Opportunities, Building Careers

By combining real-world experience with structured learning and professional development, we equip our apprentices with the skills, confidence and foundation they need to build long-term careers within Bouygues UK and the wider construction industry.

This commitment to nurturing early talent supports our broader ambition to create a more diverse, inclusive and future-ready workforce and one that reflects the communities we work in and the values we stand for.

Making a Measurable Impact

Our investment in apprenticeships continues to grow, and we’re proud of the progress we’re making across the business with the 30 apprentices currently with us:

  • 33% of our apprentices are women, supporting greater gender diversity across the construction sector.
  • Our very first degree apprentices in Wales joined the business in 2025, marking an important milestone in expanding opportunities across regions
  • 4 degree apprentices have joined Bouygues UK in 2025 with more on the way, strengthening our future technical and leadership capability

Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week 2026

To recognise #NAW2026, we are hosting a full programme of activities and initiatives across our business.

In the lead up to our #NAW2026 activities, our Bristol Team hosted a #SkillsForLife day in our Bristol offices, bringing together Management Trainee, Beca Jones and Apprentices, Sophie Ennis and Morgan Stones for a hands-on learning experience. Rotating across different teams, they gained exposure to new disciplines, broadened their understanding of how our business operates, and developed practical skills from communication and collaboration to problem-solving in live project environments.

“We had an excellent day in the Bristol office, meeting the different pre-construction teams, learning from their experience, and gaining a better understanding of the wider business.”

– Sophie & Morgan (Apprentices)

We are hosting an #EmployerTuesday event at our London office, led by our Learning & Development team, for apprentices to share experiences, develop skills and connect with colleagues from across the company.

“Learning doesn’t have an age limit, and neither should apprenticeships. Upskilling apprentices goes beyond nurturing early talent. It’s about building a workforce that can adapt, evolve, and thrive at every stage of a career. Upskilling apprentices is about growth, sharpening expertise, filling skills gaps and gaining confidence. Upskilling gives the opportunity to learn while doing and immediately apply new knowledge to the organisation.

– Gladys Moore, L&D Advisor

Throughout the week, we’ll also be celebrating apprentice stories, achievements and career journeys, showcasing the real impact apprenticeships have on individuals, teams and projects.

Looking Ahead

As the industry continues to evolve, apprenticeships remain a vital pathway for developing future talent, addressing skills shortages and building a more sustainable construction sector. At Bouygues UK, we’re committed to continuing this journey, nurturing early talent, supporting ambition and ensuring we are building for the future generation.
