Graduates and Apprentices take on the Jurassic Coast Challenge, raising over £4,000

15/09/2026

A group of Graduates and Apprentices from Bouygues UK and Bouygues Travaux Publics UK have led this year’s annual charity challenge, choosing to take on the Jurassic Coast Hike Challenge to raise funds for The Lighthouse Charity.

The group chose both the challenge and charity before organising fundraising activities across our head office and project sites. Through their efforts, they raised £2,130 ahead of the 18-mile trek along the Jurassic Coast, one of the UK’s most spectacular coastal routes.

Their fundraising also received backing from Philippe Bernard, CEO of Bouygues UK and Frédéric Gilles, CEO of Bouygues Travaux Publics UK, who contributed an additional £2,000 to the fundraising total. This brought the group’s total to £4,130 for the charity.

The Lighthouse Charity was chosen for its work supporting people in the construction industry with their emotional, physical and financial wellbeing. Its focus on the construction community made it a cause particularly relevant to those starting their own careers in the sector.

Offering our Graduates and Apprentices the opportunity to take on initiatives like this is an important part of their experience at Bouygues UK. It allows our emerging talent to build relationships across the business, develop new skills and take ownership of projects outside their day-to-day roles.

With a month left of my Graduate Programme, we took on the Charity Challenge, an 18-mile hike in support of The Lighthouse Charity. It was a fitting way to reflect on our journeys, share experiences and recognise how far we had come together.

The challenge was also an opportunity to give back to the industry that has supported our development. The Lighthouse Charity was a meaningful choice, providing vital support to people across the UK construction community. I’m proud to have supported a charity that ensures help is there when people in our industry need it most.

I was delighted to participate in our Annual Charity Challenge, organised by our Graduates and Apprentices at Bouygues Construction in the UK. Their collaborative efforts to raise funds for The Lighthouse Charity showcased the exceptional potential and values within our early talent workforce – it’s inspiring to see them making such a meaningful impact!
