Our vision is a culture where everybody contributes to the health, safety and wellbeing of each other.
Health, safety and wellbeing remains our highest priority for everyone connected with our business – our employees, clients, partners, and the communities in which we work.

We are committed to a long-term Health and Safety Strategy that consistently delivers sustainable improvements year after year. This progress is driven by a collective ownership throughout our business, ensuring that health and safety is integrated into every aspect of our operations.
We believe that wellbeing is just as important as physical health and safety. Our holistic approach means caring for our employees’ mental, physical, and emotional health. To support this, we have fully trained Mental Health First Aiders across the business and have established a partnership with the Lighthouse Charity, which offers 24/7 support and advice. The Lighthouse Charity is dedicated to enhancing the emotional, physical, and financial wellbeing of those working within the construction industry.

We also actively promote better employee health by providing comprehensive benefits, including an Employee Assistance Programme, medical care, and financial support packages. These resources are designed to foster a healthy, motivated, and resilient workforce across Bouygues UK.
In 2025, Bouygues UK’s Accident Frequency Rate (AFR) was 0. The rate achieved equates to 1 reportable accident per 4.2 million man hours. This achievement reflects the consistent commitment, care and accountability shown across our teams and supply chain. Bouygues UK will continue working to maintain an AFR of 0, with a clear focus on ensuring everyone goes home safe.

Our dedication has been recognised with the British Safety Council International Safety Award 2026 – Distinction. This award celebrates organisations around the world that have demonstrated their commitment to preventing workplace injuries and work-related ill health. It also acknowledges organisations that show exceptional commitment to wellbeing and mental health at work.

To further strengthen our health & safety culture, all 34,500 employees across the Bouygues Construction along with our partners will take part in an annual Safety Week, engaging in activities and discussions aimed at increasing awareness, understanding and management of the risks inherent in our operations.
