Bouygues UK Appointed as Lead Contractor for Overdale Acute Hospital

22/06/2026

Bouygues UK has signed the Main Works Contract and been appointed as Lead Contractor for the Overdale Acute Hospital project in Jersey, marking a major milestone in the Government of Jersey’s New Healthcare Facilities Programme (NHFP).

Following its selection as Preferred Tenderer in November 2025, Bouygues UK has worked with the NHFP team to finalise commercial terms and prepare for the commencement of construction. This appointment represents the company’s commitment to delivering a world-class healthcare facility for Jersey.

The Overdale Acute Hospital will be a modern, purpose-built facility with an internal gross floor area of 47,500m², featuring an Emergency Department, six operating theatres, inpatient beds, critical care beds, and a dedicated Women’s and Children’s centre. As Lead Contractor, Bouygues UK will now oversee the delivery of this complex project, drawing on its extensive experience in healthcare construction and its proven ability to manage the unique logistical challenges presented by Jersey’s island location.

“We are proud to have reached this significant milestone and excited to deliver this transformational project for Jersey. The partnership with the Government of Jersey and the NHFP team to reach this point has been extremely collaborative and productive, and we look forward to working together to deliver exceptional value, support local employment and supply chain partners, and create lasting social benefits for the community throughout construction and beyond. As Lead Contractor, we are committed to bringing our healthcare expertise and project management capabilities to ensure the successful delivery of this vital facility for Jersey.”

Philippe Bernard, Chair and CEO at Bouygues UK

“We are pleased to have reached this significant milestone in concluding the procurement process for the Acute Hospital and signing the Main Works Contract with Bouygues UK. We look forward to building on the good progress made so far and continuing our collaboration with Bouygues UK to deliver this important health facility for Islanders.”
