Section 1 of stanmore college completed and handed over
Bouygues UK has completed Section 1 of the transformation of Stanmore College, marking a major milestone in the delivery of a new £60 million campus for further education in Harrow.
Section 1 has now been successfully handed over as part of the wider redevelopment of the college, which is being carefully phased to ensure teaching and day-to-day operations continue uninterrupted. The completed section includes 15 general spaces, 5 specialist science labs, an executive suite, group break out spaces, and a full commercial kitchen and dining room.
Once complete, the project will replace four existing buildings with four new buildings arranged around a central courtyard, creating a modern, sustainable learning environment designed by Jestico + Whiles and delivered using Bouygues UK’s standardised model school approach.

Funded through the Department for Education’s Further Education Improvement Programme, the redevelopment will provide Stanmore College with contemporary classrooms, collaborative learning spaces, upgraded sports and social facilities, and energy-efficient buildings for staff, students and the wider community.
The completion of Section 1 marks an important milestone in the overall programme, with the next phase of work now underway on site.
Principal of Stanmore College, Annette Cast, said ‘Seeing phase one take shape has been genuinely exciting, and it already feels like a different campus. The new dining and social spaces have been transformational, and the enhanced science and engineering facilities are already enabling exciting upgrades to our curriculum for 2026/27. We’re grateful to Bouygues UK for getting us here, and excited about what the next phase will bring for our students and the wider community.’
Peter Roberts, Senior Project Manager, Department for Education, said ‘The completion of Section 1 marks an important milestone in the redevelopment of Stanmore College. Learners, staff and the community can now get a real sense of how the College will be transformed by the end of the programme. Bouygues UK, the college, and other stakeholders have worked and are working tirelessly to bring the vision into reality.’
Russell Miller, Project Director at Bouygues UK said: “Completion of Section 1 is a fantastic achievement and a proud moment for everyone involved. This milestone reflects the strong collaboration between Bouygues UK, Stanmore College and the Department for Education, and brings us one step closer to delivering a high-quality campus that will support teaching, learning and the wider community for years to come.”
