What’s the most rewarding part of your job at Bouygues UK?
The most rewarding aspect of my role at Bouygues UK is the collaborative culture and strong leadership that empowers our teams. What really resonates with me is the genuine commitment to creating an inclusive environment where every team member feels valued and supported. I enjoy building meaningful relationships both within the organisation and with our external partners as we work towards shared objectives. I’m particularly passionate about working collaboratively with our supply chain partners as active stakeholders, driving excellence together and delivering safe, high-quality projects that exceed our clients’ expectations. It’s this sense of collective purpose and shared accountability that makes my work so fulfilling, alongside the opportunity to keep improving from project to project and as a business.

What does “Building for life” mean to you?
Building for Life encapsulates everything I believe in at Bouygues UK. For me, it’s an integrated commitment that shapes how I approach my work and leadership. At its core, it means delivering projects that are built to endure, with uncompromising standards of safety and quality that protect people’s wellbeing today and for generations to come. It also extends beyond the buildings themselves. It means investing in people, developing meaningful careers, nurturing talent and creating an environment where everyone, including our supply chain partners, can grow, thrive and feel valued. Our greatest legacy isn’t just what we construct, but the people, leaders and change-makers we develop along the way. For me, Building for Life means creating lasting value for our clients, communities, people and future generations.
How has Bouygues UK supported your development?
Over the past decade, Bouygues UK has played a significant role in shaping both my professional and personal growth. Starting as a trainee, I’ve had the opportunity to work across diverse project teams, taking on meaningful responsibilities while receiving training and support to develop and progress. What has stood out most is the quality of leadership I’ve experienced throughout my journey. I’ve been challenged to step outside my comfort zone, grow, learn and take on greater accountability, while always having the support and guidance I needed. The mentorship and confidence my leaders have shown in me, even when the path was uncertain, have been hugely important to my development. After a decade here, I can genuinely say that the person I’ve become professionally and personally has been shaped by the opportunities, encouragement and leadership I’ve experienced at Bouygues UK.
How would you describe the culture to someone new joining?
I would describe the culture as collaborative, inclusive and built around genuine teamwork and mutual support. There is a real sense that we’re all working towards something together, with people across teams willing to share their knowledge and support one another. Leadership also plays an important role. Leaders don’t just manage; they mentor, challenge and encourage you to grow beyond what you thought was possible, while making sure you’re supported along the way. There’s a strong sense of purpose through Building for Life, with safety and quality at the heart of what we do. Whether you join as a trainee or at any other level, there are opportunities to take on responsibility, learn and develop. It’s a culture where you can belong, your contribution matters and your growth is genuinely supported.
